The season kicks off on March 3 and 4 with the Barham Classic Triples, a well-established tournament sponsored by cluBarham.
“It’s a tournament we have been running for 15-20 years and it is held every year at this time,” Barham Bowls Club secretary Jean Fairchild said.
Hot on its heels is the Ecovantage President’s Cup Open Triples on March 13 and 14, targeting presidents of bowls clubs.
The Edinburgh Shield, slated for April 5 and 6, is aimed at ex-service personnel representing their clubs in a fours event.
“Then you have got the Barham Bowling Club Autumn Carnival 2025 and that runs from Monday, the 7th to Friday, the 11th of April,” Jean said.
“There is going to be three days of triples and two days of fours and again bowling clubs are coming from all over.”
The Mak Max Open Triples 2025 rounds out the April events on April 12 and 13.
Both the Mak Max and Ecovantage tournaments offer $4000 in prize money, luring teams from as far as Melbourne.
The Victorian State 60 and over carnival from May 19 to 25 will utilise greens across the northern district.
However, the highlight of the year will be the World Bowls event from September 19 to 25, featuring 60 of the world’s top singles players.
“We will be extremely busy because we are working our way up to World Bowls in September,” Jean said.
CluBarham, which underwent a major transformation in 2022, now boasts two brand new nine-rink synthetic world-class surfaces, one of which is undercover.
The complex also features refurbished clubrooms and improved facilities.
