Winter Sessions

Shepparton Farmers’ and Specialty Market + Trash and Treasure Market
As they say, one person’s trash is another’s treasure and this weekend’s market at the Shepparton Showgrounds is your time to grab a bargain. The market will operate every fourth Saturday of the month, running from 8am to 1pm with free entry.
Transition Tatura Film Festival
Transition Tatura presents its annual film festival, complete with guest speakers and short films on the topics of sustainable building design, waste, energy and transport, and self-sufficient living. Goulburn Valley student entries from the Transition Tatura Art competition will be awarded on the day. The event is on at the Mechanic's Institute hall, 75 Hogan St, Tatura, from 9am to 3pm. GV Concert Orchestra performance
The orchestra will perform a series of free Sunday chamber concerts across August and September, starting this weekend at 2pm. The events are on at Riverlinks Eastbank, 70 Welsford St, Shepparton. Enjoy is via a gold coin donation.
Shepparton Women’s Teej event
Teej is the biggest Nepalese women’s festival, celebrated by singing, dancing, and dressing up in brightly-coloured clothes. The event will see the sharing of stories with friends and families and the taste of community cooking. It is on at the Masonic Centre, 161 Welsford St, Shepparton, from 5pm to 9pm.

Country music for charity
On Sunday, August 28, Wayne Hosburgh will perform at the Sir Ian McLennan Centre. Music from noon to 5pm, a barbecue lunch will be available, bring your own cup and nibbles. For information, phone 5824 1871.

Round-robin tennis tournament
Shepparton and District Tennis Association invites everyone for winter round-robin tennis on Saturdays. Players to sign up by 1.15pm for three sets of tennis at $2 a week. Goulburn Valley Pipes and Drums members desperately need experienced pipers and drummers to join the band. A friendly social group that meets on the second Tuesday of each month at Casablanca Restaurant, 125 High St, Shepparton for dinner at 6pm and to work out the coming months’ outings.
