Some of Victoria’s leading arts companies will visit the Goulburn Valley in 2024, with creative experiences for all ages.
State Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said the latest round of the Victorian Government’s Touring Victoria program was a win for local audiences.
“The Touring Victoria program gives audiences of all ages the chance to experience incredible creative performances, events and professional development activities that may otherwise be a city trip away,” Ms Symes said.
“These tours will complement our local calendar of creative events and activities, and showcase some of the best artists and performers from across our state.”
The program supports leading creative organisations across Victoria to take their works on the road and connect world-class art with more communities and local venues — boosting accessibility and opportunity for Victorians.
It enables Victorian arts companies to hit the road, reach new audiences and connect with local creative workers and communities.
In Shepparton, the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra will present a program of orchestral and chamber music, including performances, student masterclasses, talks and more.
The Koorie Heritage Trust will tour JXSH MVIR: FOREVER I LIVE, the first major retrospective exhibition of work by the celebrated late Gunditjmara, Yorta Yorta and Barkindji artist Josh Muir, with locations to be confirmed.
