Masquerade at the Museum
The opening night gala event, Masquerade at the Museum invites the community to dress to impress as they are welcomed to this year’s festival.
Entertainment throughout the night includes Polly Filla, Frock Hudson and Tom Nethersole.
Grab a drink at the bar and enjoy the catering served by the Elsewhere at SAM team while you take in the sights from level four.

Q+ Pride Pop-Up
Grab a drink and wander into a queer oasis, which promises sweet beats from the line-up of queer DJs, queer cinema, a pop-up performance a ‘Disco Queer’ dance party, queer exhibitions, a glitter station and an opportunity to leave a message for the queer community of Shepp. This event is part of the Fryers St Food Festival.

Rainbow Social Brunch
Join Rainbow Social Melbourne for an OUTintheOpen annual social brunch.
Price: No booking fee, but food and drink will be at bar prices.

Transcending the Narrative
This workshop promises to take LGBTIQA+ people on a journey of writing, re-writing, and transcending their story by using principles of narrative therapy. The workshop will explore creative writing skills, narrative therapy principles, and internalised and externalised queerphobia.

Queer Nature Connection and Campfire Dinner
Queer Nature Connection aims to facilitate a nature connection activity specifically for the queer community.

History Can Be Queer
Ever wondered what it’s like to be LGBTIQA+ 40 years ago, or 100 years ago? History Can Be Queer hopes to help attendees learn in a safe space with their community. Free community lunch included.

Trans Awareness Week LGBTIQA+ Youth Event
Celebrate Trans Awareness Week this OUTintheOPEN Festival. LGBTIQA+ young people aged 12 to 25 are invited to join in the celebrations for Trans Awareness Week. The event will include free food, fun activities and opportunities for connections, understanding and awareness, all while celebrating transgender and gender diverse communities in Greater Shepparton.

Rainbow Storytime
Enjoy a story read by Frock Hudson, as well as the complimentary craft packs available. Suitable for all ages.

She and her pretty friend author talk: Danielle Scrimshaw
Get ready to meet author Danielle Scrimshaw as she shares insights into researching and writing about the hidden history of Australian women who love women. She and Her Pretty Friend is an exploration of women’s relationships through Australian history, each chapter centring on a specific person, couple or time period.

Carnival Day at Queen’s Gardens
OUTintheOPEN is Greater Shepparton’s Festival celebrating LGBTIQA+ pride and community diversity, with Carnival Day being the biggest event. Wander through the stalls and markets, savour the smells and tastes of fresh local produce and homemade treats. There will be entertainment, food and information to learn. Remember to bring your picnic blanket or chair.

GLOW Roller Disco
GLOW is bringing classic roller disco back to OUTintheOPEN Festival. All ages and all skill levels are welcome. Price includes skate hire. BYO skates welcome. Food trucks and market stalls.
