The Victorian Government has allocated $220,000 to support up to 110 youth-led events across the state, ranging from live music performances and art exhibitions to sports competitions and cultural festivals.
Grants of up to $2000 are open to schools, local councils and community organisations working with young people aged 12 to 25 to create events that foster connection and engagement.
“We’re giving young Victorians more opportunities to bring their communities together and create events that truly matter to them,” Youth Minister Natalie Suleyman said.
“Youth Fest is about celebrating talent, creativity and leadership — making sure everyone can be part of something special.
“From ideas big or small, this grant program ensures young Victorians are not just involved — they’re leading the way and celebrating the incredible diversity of talent across the state.”
Last year, Youth Fest supported 110 events, bringing young people together while showcasing local talent and addressing themes such as sustainability, mental health and community participation.
Last year, BendiGLOW Youth Fest lit up a venue with neon lights and brought young people together for a Battle of the Bands, skate workshops, laser tag, UV face painting, art workshops, market stalls and food trucks.
In Sunshine, the Liberty Unity Organisation Life Global Foundation Australia brought the African-Australian community together with cultural performances, live music and art exhibitions, celebrating heritage and strengthening community connections.
In Shepparton, the Salvation Army Shepparton Corps hosted a Taylor Swift-themed trivia night, inspired by the singer’s Melbourne tour. Young people were invited to dress as their favourite ‘era’ and take part in a night of music and friendly competition.
Youth Fest 2025 applications will close on March 14.
