She bought the van in September 2022, and seeing the community suffer through the floods the next month, she was inspired to create The Rolling Lolly Shop.
“Seeing everything with the floods last year, I thought, what can I do for the community?” Ms Glenister said.
As there had not been a lolly shop in Mooroopna before, Ms Glenister thought it was a good place to start.
The business is new but she has high hopes for the future, including expanding her stock.
“I have a lot of modern lollies that kids these days love, but I want to get some old-fashioned lollies,” she said.
“I have Choo-Choo Bars and Fads but I want more ’70s lollies.”
However, Ms Glenister’s desire for increased stock does not end with sweet treats.
“With the Coles being gone, I want to sell bread and milk too, just to help everyone out this side of town,” she said.
Business is booming at The Rolling Lolly Shop, but Ms Glenister has had her fair share of troubles, including a “broken down car” and her generator being unusable. Despite these challenges, she is back in the van.
The mobile shop is parked at Craigmuir Lake, Mooroopna and accepts both cash and card.
Ms Glenister is taking it easy while she works out what hours suit her best, so to find out when she is open, head to her Facebook page by searching for ‘The Rolling Lolly Shop’ using Facebook’s search bar.
Ms Glenister is working towards a website for her business, to more efficiently reach her audience.
Her eventual goal is to have a fully renovated bus, where people enter at one end and leave out the back.
