The Rotary Club of Numurkah is inviting submissions across a range of creative categories, with entry forms available online and at local venues.
This year’s exhibition, held from Friday, March 7 to Monday, March 10 at the Numurkah Town Hall, will open with a special ceremony acknowledging Numurkah’s 150th anniversary.
Jeff Blackley will open the event at 8.30pm on opening night, with live music and an evening meal for attendees.
According to Numurkah’s Rotary Club, the event is regarded as “one of regional Victoria’s best art showcases”, attracting participants from across multiple states, including Queensland, New South Wales, and South Australia.
With $10,000 in prize money available across 14 sections, including painting, craft and photography, competition draws interest from artists from various disciplines.
Art judge Glenda Cornell will select the ‘Best in Show’ recipient, who will take home $1,500, alongside additional awards for standout pieces in watercolour, oil, and pastel.
Photography entries will be judged by Doug Spowart, with specific awards for photography, digital art, and a special themed category ‘Heritage of Numurkah,’ aimed at highlighting Numurkah’s history
Majorly sponsored by Numurkah Home Hardware, the event has raised over $334,000 for local community projects since its inception in 1981.
For those eager to support the event, raffle tickets are available from Rotarians, with street sales taking place in February.
