Nestled on the serene south side of Lake Mulwala, The Sebel in Yarrawonga exudes elegance and charm. This exquisite resort is a haven for solo travellers, couples and friends alike, offering a variety of experiences. Whether it’s a solo retreat, a romantic getaway, or a meet-up point for friends from Albury-Wodonga, this destination caters to all.
During my stay, I experienced the tranquillity of the surroundings first-hand. Meeting friends, enjoying the stunning golf course and making use of the excellent sporting facilities for tennis, walking and biking have all been highlights. Speaking with the manager during our visit, she mentioned the initial challenges opening during the COVID-19 pandemic period, but assured us that The Sebel was now at its prime, aiming to be the premier destination in the region.

The Sebel prides itself on being an award-winning luxury boutique hotel that seamlessly integrates with its natural environment. Every detail, from its architecture to the menu, is thoughtfully designed to complement the beauty of Yarrawonga, its bushland and the surrounding lake.

Guests have two dining options: Stock and Barrel, which offers country-inspired dishes, and Elizabeth’s, which provides a refined fine dining experience. Opting for Stock and Barrel, we were delighted by the homemade lamb meatballs with sourdough toast and the popcorn cauliflower with sticky Korean sauce. Our mains, a succulent pork chop and a chicken dish with freekeh, rocket, candied walnuts and spiced yoghurt dressing were equally delicious.

Paul and I savoured our meal outdoors on a glorious day, relishing the million-dollar water-front view. The setting, food and service exceeded our expectations, making our experience truly memorable.
