The event is set to unfold at the Mechanics’ Institute in Shepparton, on Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16.
This year promises a patchwork of talent, with 50 quilts hung on display, featuring a range of styles, colours and techniques.
All quilts have been created within the past two years, ready to display at the exhibition.
This year is extra special for the Goulburn Valley Quilters as members celebrate the group’s 40th anniversary in May.
The milestone marks not only the longevity of the group but the evolution of quilting within the region.
Visitors will be able to see works from both new and founding members, offering a glimpse into the development of their craft over four decades.

There’s the opportunity to take home a quilt as well. This year’s raffle includes a special members’ quilt, a denim bag and crafted table runner. It will be drawn at 3pm on Sunday.
This year the group is donating the proceeds of the raffle to Riding for the Disabled, an organisation that helps individuals with disabilities experience the physical and emotional benefits of horse riding.

Additionally, the quilters themselves will compete for the viewers’ choice award, this year featuring two categories — one for large quilts and one for small quilts.
It’s a chance to feature the broad spectrum of quilt styles.

“Come along have a look and appreciate the diverse array of quilts,” GV Quilters president Gael Thompson said.
She highlighted the importance of the quilters’ skills and efforts that do “such excellent work” for the Goulburn Valley, as many of their quilts are donated to the local dialysis and palliative care units as a community contribution.
Doors are open Saturday, March 15 from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday, March 16 from 11am to 4pm.
Entry to the exhibition is $8 for adults and free for children accompanied by an adult.
