The night was filled with inspiring speeches about the historical journey of the nation, vibrant traditional dances, entertainment, a raffle and a fashion parade/pageant.
The theme of this year’s Independence Day celebration was “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan” (freedom, future and history).
The FAFA event provided a platform for Filipino-Australian community members to come together, honour their heritage, and express their deep-rooted pride in being part of a nation that has overcome significant challenges to attain freedom and progress, as well as educate non-Filipinos on the significance of the milestone.
