Local artist John Lindsay Taylor was a teacher for 35 years and also spent 10 years in finance before he swapped books for brushes and started his art gallery Sunstruck Artworks.
His acrylic paintings on canvas capture the beauty of the local environment.
Mr Taylor said the agreement started when The Cobram Beach Club's owner Josh Sasse saw his artwork.
“Most of the paintings I'm bringing down here are of this area, but I do seascapes and landscapes and even portraits,” Mr Taylor said.
Mr Sasse said his mission to support local businesses did not stop at food.
“I was actively searching for local artists because I wanted the place to feel like a community project,” Mr Sasse said.
“We get comments on the artwork everyday, people love it and it's nice to celebrate local Australiana.”
On January 14, Mr Taylor changed the artwork which has been on display in the café since October 2020.
“Josh and I both came up with the idea to change the paintings at the same time, it gives the people in here something to look at,” Mr Taylor said.
“It has generated some business and gets my work out there — it's a win-win.”
All of Mr Taylor's paintings are available for sale.
Sunstruck Gallery is at 135 High St Cobram and is open by appointment.
