Miers, who spends his off-field time in the AFL club's recruitment department, said the logic for Geelong pursuing Rowell was "pretty straightforward".
Out of contract at the end of the year, Rowell has been linked with Geelong after reportedly meeting with Cats officials in the off-season.
The 23-year-old contested bull is hoped to bolster a Geelong midfield featuring veterans Patrick Dangerfield, Cam Guthrie and Mitch Duncan.
Drafted to the Suns in 2019 with the prized first overall pick, Rowell finished the 2024 season with an average of 23.4 disposals, 7.1 clearances and eight tackles a match under coach Damien Hardwick.
"He's one of the best players in the league, so it's pretty straightforward," Miers said on Wednesday.
"I actually don't know if we're going for him, but if we are, then good luck to him, good luck to us.
"If it happens, it'll be exciting.
"'Danger' reckons he's got 10 years left, so he (Rowell) might actually come and play half-forward with me."

Suns teammate Ben Ainsworth hoped Rowell would opt to stay.
"There certainly hasn't been any talk internally," Ainsworth said on Wednesday.
"It's obviously part and parcel of the job, being able to explore our options, but we love him at the club and hope he stays.
"He'll make the right decision at the end of the year."
Gold Coast ruck Ned Moyle added: "It doesn't really bother us too much. He loves it here, we love having him, so no issues."
The chase for Rowell comes after Geelong successfully secured the services of high-profile Western Bulldogs midfielder Bailey Smith and pursued Melbourne star Clayton Oliver.
Over the past 10 years, the Cats have traded in Smith, Dangerfield, Jeremy Cameron, Isaac Smith, Zach Tuohy and Gary Rohan.
After parting with draft picks No.17 and 38 for Bailey Smith, the Cats will again have to pull off a trade for Rowell, who remains ineligible for free agency.

A fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Miers endorsed his club's bullish approach to poaching rival talent and likened their relentlessness to the Super Bowl-bound NFL franchise.
"That's what everyone gets cut up about. That we're targeting great players, and we've targeted them in the past and ended up getting them," Miers said.
"They'll keep doing that job, and that is their job to do - target the best.
"Philadelphia did the same thing (in the NFL) - they target the big names, and now they're going to the Super Bowl.
"You don't want to sit on your heels and let others take the best players in the league."
