Kane poised to secure senior AFL football role

Speculation about Kane's appointment was fuelled before the Carlton-GWS game at Marvel Stadium on Sunday, when she and new AFL chief executive Andrew Dillon were seen being photographed on the ground.

Kane would become one of Dillon's most senior deputies in the EGM football role.

Its portfolio will cover crucial game-related issues such as umpiring, the AFLW, rules and the tribunal.

Kane had several senior roles at North Melbourne before she joined the AFL in September, 2021 as its competition manager.

She moved to the interim football boss role after Scott left for the Bombers.
