Reid, an 18-year-old Victorian midfielder, is a lock to be the first selection at the national draft on November 20.
West Coast hold pick one but the Kangaroos, with picks two and three among others, are trying to strike a deal for the top selection during the trade period ending next week.
"It's a crazy trade period, who knows what will happen," Reid told SEN radio on Wednesday.
The Kangaroos have received draft pick three as compensation for losing Ben McKay.
The Kangaroos received pick three on Tuesday as compensation for losing key backman and restricted free agent Ben McKay to Essendon, while Reid again denied telling the Eagles he'd prefer to remain in Victoria.
"You know what you said, your manager knows what you said, West Coast know I didn't say it," he said.
Reid said he would be excited to play for either the Eagles or Roos, despite their lowly recent status.
"If it is West Coast or if it is North, I would love to get in there and influence the team, to turn them around and be a part of the process that puts them back into finals footy," he said.
"There are all those little percenters in earning respect ... (but) I would love to be a part of a team that is not there (finals) at the moment.
"I would love to be a part of the process to turn them around."
Adelaide's Shane McAdam (right) is a target for Melbourne.
As North and the Eagles continue negotiations on Wednesday, so will Sydney and Melbourne regarding Brodie Grundy.
The Demons are open to trading the ruckman but have rejected a reportedly low-ball opening offer from the Swans.
Melbourne are also seeking to secure Adelaide forward Shane McAdam while the Crows are understood to still be keen on Harrison Petty despite the Demons rejecting an initial overture for the versatile tall.
