Teammates of the deadly Australian striker never doubted she'd be feasting on goals soon after a rare lean spell - and, sure enough, Kerr ended her drought of just one in 10 for club and country by blasting four in an hour in Chelsea's 8-0 thumping of Vllaznia on Wednesday.
Her quadruple was the first ever scored by a woman in the CL group stages - 30 years since the Dutch master van Basten first achieved the same feat when the men's European Cup was revamped into its Champions League format.
And it evidently meant so much to the 29-year-old Matildas captain that she even enjoyed uncorking a rare outing for her signature backflip that she's used to mark her remarkable goalscoring feats all over the world.
"It wasn't on my mind but at halftime (teammate) Millie [Bright] said, 'if you score the hatty, can you please do it?'," smiled Kerr, savouring the moment at Chelsea's Kingsmeadow home.
"I haven't done a backflip here in a long time and this was my first in the Champions League.
"Scoring my first Champions League hat-trick is a night I will remember forever."
It could also be the signal for Kerr to really ramp into top gear after only scoring once in five Women's Super League matches this season - a false start for the woman who's won the golden boot as the league's top scorer for the last two campaigns.
Chelsea general manager Paul Green, who's in charge alongside Denise Reddy while Emma Hayes recovers from surgery, hailed her "a born goalscorer".
"We haven't been worried about that at all," said Green of her lean spell.
"Scoring four will give her confidence, and hopefully she can be on the scoresheet again this weekend."
Aston Villa will certainly be in Kerr's sights at Kingsmeadow on Sunday.
"Three games is a long time for me [not to score]! It was nice. I'm paid to score goals but I also think I bring a lot when I'm not scoring too," said Kerr.
"It's about being patient and getting into my groove and I did that.
"Hopefully, I can do the same against Villa."
