Signed by the Sky Blues on loan from Slask Wroclaw, Klimala has registered 13 goals across 24 games in both the A-League Men and the Asian Champions League 2.
The 26-year-old's brace in Sydney's 2-0 quarter-final first leg win away to South Korean side Jeonbuk Motors has Ufuk Talay's side on the brink of advancing to the last four.
Sydney host the second leg at Allianz Stadium on Thursday and will be back at their home ground on Sunday to face Wellington as they look to climb back into the ALM top six.
But beyond this campaign, Klimala is keen to finalise his future after several years of struggling to settle down.
"Sydney has an option to buy (me) for a price that is very low," Klimala told AAP.
"Alex (Baumjohann) the club's sporting director did it very well and for me the most important thing is that I don't need to go back to Poland (at the end of the loan).
"I know that I will have another option … I haven't spoken to the sporting director about the details but I know Sydney is willing to offer me a contract.
"For me, it's not the right moment because we have very important games in front of us with Jeonbuk in the Champions League and in the league we want to qualify for the play-offs because the table is so tight."
Klimala is reluctant to continue bouncing between clubs across the world after spending time in his homeland, the USA, Scotland and Israel over the last four years.
His wife also gave birth to their second child in Sydney just before Christmas.
"I don't want to go anywhere for just one year … I want to sign a deal for three years minimum," he said.
"We're fed up with travelling. We want to be in a place for one or two years and I've got to make sure my wife and kids are comfortable."
Klimala said his teammates could not afford to slack off against Jeonbuk as Sydney bid to qualify for the semi-finals of an Asian competition for the first time.
"We just need to play exactly the same way we did in Korea, by being very aggressive, being brave, playing through them and challenging for every ball," Klimala said.
"If we can qualify for the semi-final, why can't we go through and win the final? I think we have everything to win and to make history - it's a very good opportunity."
