Playing centrally in the absence of striker Patryk Klimala, Lolley fired the Sky Blues into the ascendancy just 90 seconds into Saturday's Big Blue before doubling the lead in the 26th minute.
The goals were sandwiched around the dismissal of Zinedine Machach, who initially earned a yellow card in the 15th minute when his boot bounced off the top of the ball and onto Jordan Courtney-Perkins' outstretched leg as the two battled for possession.
VAR intervention upgraded the sanction to a red. In a statement issued soon afterwards by Football Australia, head of referees Jon Moss backed the decision, stating the foul constituted "serious foul play".

Able to go second with a win, the undermanned Victory fought on and created chances as the game progressed.
But possessing a two-goal buffer and a one-player advantage, the hosts never appeared in danger, with Jaiden Kucharski putting a bow on things in the 86th minute.
One of the few negatives on Sydney's evening came moments into the second half when Douglas Costa pulled up holding his hamstring, leading to his immediate substitution.
The Brazilian had delivered a world-class cross onto the head of Lolley to register a fourth-goal involvement in two games before his exit.
Courtney-Perkins had previously delivered the ball for Englishman Lolley's first.
His side seventh after snapping a three-game winless run, Ufuk Talay will sweat on the fitness of his superstar winger ahead of a trip to 11th-placed Newcastle next Saturday.
Barring a successful appeal, Victory interim coach Arthur Diles will be without the suspended Machach for a visit to top-of-the-table Auckland on New Year's Day.
