Sivo signs on at Eels until the end of 2025

Maika Sivo will remain at Parramatta until the end of 2025 after the barnstorming winger signed a two-year extension on the eve of the NRL season.

Initially off-contract at the end of this year, Sivo loomed as a key target for the Eels to keep after a dominant start to his NRL career with 67 tries in 83 games.

That target has been secured, with Sivo aiming for an injury-free year after his start to last season was disrupted by a ruptured ACL suffered in late 2021.

"Maika is such a powerful athlete who is not only difficult to contain but he can score tries from almost impossible positions," Eels football boss Mark O'Neill said.

"He is one of a handful of players in the NRL who can bring the crowd to their feet during a match."

Sivo's re-signing means there is one less piece of the puzzle for the club to sort with their salary cap.

Star halfback Mitch Moses is yet to make a decision on his future beyond this year.

While Moses is expected to stay on, he has received big-money interest from his former club Wests Tigers.

The Eels have 20 players with contracts expiring in 2023 or 2024.
