Burgess faced younger brother Tom Burgess, his former South Sydney teammate, who was making his Giants debut on Sunday following his return to Yorkshire from the NRL.
After his side had hit back after trailing 6-4 at half-time, Sam Burgess revealed he'd won his pre-match bet with his younger sibling, who must now carry out the loser's forfeit by completing a bungee jump.
The Wolves boss smiled: "He didn't talk to me all week. He's got a bungee jump to do anyway. He bet me if he won, I had to do a bungee jump and if he lost, he had to do one."
Big prop Tom Burgess had been prominent in Huddersfield's encouraging start against a Warrington side who were far from their best.
"He'll add a bit to them. As the season goes on he'll grow into his role in England. It's a different style of play," said Sam.
"But I thought he was good. He's a big boy. He was hard to handle. The more he gets those combinations going in the side, I'm sure he'll be okay."
Warrington trailed 6-0 after Giants' stand-off Tui Lolohea's converted try on his 250th career appearance before they reduced the deficit through centre Arron Lindop's score.
The Wolves were much improved in the second half and forged into a 14-6 lead after tries from wing Matty Ashton and centre Toby King.
Giants forward Jordy Crowther ensured an intriguing finish when he barged over to cut the deficit to 14-12 with just over 10 minutes left, but Wolves full-back Matt Dufty's late converted touchdown sealed a hard-fought win for the visitors.
"Happy with two points, yes. It wasn't a very polished performance, but we'll take the two points," said Sam Burgess.
"I expected us to be a tiny bit better. We lost our way a bit, but we'll be better for it on Friday night (at home against Catalans Dragons), put it that way."
Meanwhile, Salford could be hit with a disrepute charge after fielding a reserve squad in their record-breaking 82-0 Super League defeat at St Helens on Saturday.
Due to salary cap restrictions the Red Devils were denied the use of a number of senior players but head coach Paul Rowley still chose to name three of those who had been available on the bench.
Saints' 15-try romp was the biggest winning margin in Super League history and drew criticism from rivals, like Sam Burgess, that it has compromised the integrity of the competition.
It's understood RFL chiefs will meet on Monday to determine whether Salford will be the subject of a compliance investigation that could result in a charge of breaching operational rules.
