One key subject up for discussion was the return of Eels captain Mitchell Moses from a foot injury for his first NRL game of the season against Wests Tigers on Easter Monday.
The other two areas of investigation were the possible Eels signing of Wests Tigers No.6 Galvin and his recent dropping and treatment by teammates after announcing he would leave the club at the end of 2026.
The Eels are one of the front-runners to secure the services of Galvin with current No.6 Dylan Brown to leave for Newcastle next year, freeing up cap space.
The Galvin topics were treated warily but winger Josh Addo-Carr couldn't resist when asked about the prospect of his recruitment, where a partnership with Moses in the halves has Parramatta fans salivating.
"He is one of the most exciting young players I've seen so if he does come here it will be a privilege," Addo-Carr said.
Centre Bailey Simonsson was also enthused.
"We have a pretty good five-eighth in Dyl' who is leaving us at the end of the year so yeah, it would be good," he said.
Tough forward Jack Williams said Galvin was "a great player with a bright future".
That was different to the Tigers' players response to the 19-year-old's recent decision where several refused to play with him and winger Sunia Turuva and Jarome Luai took veiled digs at the playmaker on their personal Instagram accounts.
"There are a lot of circumstances that come into players leaving teams - family and financial things and a whole lot more," Simonsson said.
"I have always treated players with respect. We have had Dyl go through a situation where he will leave and I respect he is doing what is best for himself and his family. I can't comment too much on what has gone on at the Tigers. That is their business."
Despite Parramatta languishing in last spot there was optimism in the camp, particularly with Moses back.
"It is going to put a lot of confidence in everyone around the squad," Williams said.
"It was a draw for me (to leave Cronulla) to have a player like that at the club and he is going to be massive for us. We have to fold in around him, listen to him and let him take charge. He is going to lead by example."
Simmonson said Moses would slot straight in."He has been our on-field leader for as long as I have been here," he said.
"He just has to keep being himself and the boys will follow."
Meanwhile, Parramatta have offloaded England-bound prop Joe Ofahengaue which will create a vacancy and allow salary cap space for a possible early arrival of Galvin.
Galvin's contract with the Tigers runs until the end of the 2026 season, but the growing expectation is he will leave earlier.
Ofahengaue's departure to Super League club Leigh Leopards will free up salary-cap space should Galvin be on the market this year.
Eels football manager Mark O'Neill thanked Tonga and Queensland representative Ofahengaue for his "strong commitment" to the club.
"He's been a valued team member, and we're particularly pleased that he was able to celebrate his 200th NRL game in blue and gold - a significant milestone in any player's career," O'Neill said.
