Eels NRLW skipper Cherrington on dangerous throw charge

The Jillaroos lock forward was hit with a grade three charge, meaning she must front the judiciary panel on Tuesday night.

It is Cherrington's second offence in the dangerous throw category. 

The charged continued a horror start to the season for the winless Eels, who made the grand final last year.

They were pummelled by 2022 champions Newcastle 38-4.

Knights second-rower Caitlan Johnston joined Cherrington on the sidelines, sin-binned for a high shot on debutant Kelsey Clark in the 61st minute.

Johnston was charged by the match review committee for the tackle and faces a one-game ban with an early guilty plea or two if found guilty.
