Georgallis' side were pumped 72-4 by Samoa on the same weekend that Australia hammered Scotland 84-0, New Zealand beat Jamaica 68-6 and Fiji racked up a 60-4 victory over Italy.
Only two games of the tournament - which expanded to 16 teams from the 14-side competition of 2017 - have been decided by two tries or less.
Both of those came in group D where Tonga held off Papua New Guinea and the Cook Islands jagged a win over Wales.
"There are games in the NRL that end up 72-4," Georgallis said.
"When one team is on, they're on and I don't think today's scoreline is a true reflection of our effort. You miss a few tackles and teams score try after try."
Greece captain Terry Constantinou added: "We need this sort of experience to keep building".
Georgallis said the presence of relatively new sides in the World Cup would strengthen development efforts, with three members of his squad, who took on a star-studded Samoa side, drawn from the country's domestic competition.
"I'm not big on social media but the players have told me the hits - I don't know what that means - (are high) and that everyone is talking about us," he said.
"People didn't realise Greece played rugby league.Â
"We hit three major TV channels in Sydney, how do you pay for that publicity to promote the game in Greece?
"Then there's the shot of the bar in Athens of people celebrating our first try.
"We want to grow the game and what's happening here in the World Cup and the effort and the passion we show, regardless of the score, it will only reflect on what happens in Greece in the coming years."
