The 20-year-old, who stands at a whopping 205cm, is not the only front-rower giving coach Michael Maguire a big call to make about his bench for the March 6 clash with Sydney Roosters.
Maori All Stars behemoth Xavier Willison, 22, and 35-year-old former New Zealand international Martin Taupau have also impressed in the pre-season.
Te Kura, who played three NRL games last year before a foot injury cruelled his season, has started in trial wins over Burleigh and Gold Coast and shone in both.
His fiery display in the 50-12 win over the Titans in Toowoomba on Sunday was a statement of intent against a decorated pack that included Moe Fotuaika, David Fifita and Beau Fermor.
Te Kura, signed until the end of 2027, ran for 116m and scored a try in a rampaging display.
Willison was dynamite in the Maori win over the Indigenous All Stars.
Test prop Haas has been impressed with the young pair.
"Benny has been training well this pre-season. When you look at the size of him … he's a nightmare when he gets going," Haas told AAP.
"He's been going really good along with Xavier Willison. They're both taller than me, those boys. They are young and fit and strong.
"They're hungry as well and that's what you need as a footy player."
Two aspects of Te Kura's play that have come to the fore are his ball skills and his endurance. On several occasions he has displayed silky hands, signalling that he is far from a one-dimensional proposition.
"He has worked on his fitness pretty hard. That was the only thing that was holding him back," Broncos hooker Billy Walters said.
"He is a big body and can damage the defence. He scored a try and every time he has the ball he was bending the line.
"It is not just the way he runs. It is the way he can play our shapes as well. He is quite clever with the ball and sometimes thinks he is a half in a forward's body. The fitter he is the better it is going to be for us."
Willison has now played 30 NRL games and was re-signed by Maguire in November until the end of 2027.
Taupau showed at the back end of last year that he still had plenty to offer in his twilight years.
He was without a deal for 2025 until Maguire arrived and extended his contract.
On Sunday the veteran came off the bench and ran amok in the second half with 15 runs for 176m in a compelling claim for a spot in the top 17.
