The visitors won the toss on Tuesday night and, after sluggish performances in their opening two losses in Mackay, slowly found some form ahead of next month's showpiece in Dubai.
Opener Georgia Plimmer (53 off 48) and No.3 Amelia Kerr (40 off 36) shared a 73-run partnership, Plimmer's maiden half century featuring just the second six of the series for the visitors.
Georgia Wareham (2-21) struck with her first ball to dismiss fellow opener Suzie Bates then broke the key partnership when Plimmer ran past a delivery.
It sparked a collapse of 3-2 and 5-14, Kerr chopping on an Ashleigh Gardner delivery before Annabel Sutherland (2-23) grabbed a quick double.
But Maddy Green (12 off five balls) found the middle in a 14-run final over to push them to 6-146 and ensure a tricky chase before both teams fly to the UAE on Wednesday.
