The Sydneysider finished 10Â shots behind winner Ally Ewing at the Kroger Queen City Championship in Cincinnati, Ohio.
But her tie for eighth at Kenwood Country Club moves her to 88th in the season-long Race to CME Globe standings with eight events remaining, and with some breathing room in the top-100 cut-off that determines who keeps full status for 2023.
"This is huge," Kemp said.
"Top 10 is just awesome to start finishing out the year. Really cool.
"I was 100 on CME, so I won't be anymore, which is great. It's a little pressure taken off going into the last few events."
Kemp's Sunday started with a bogey at the first, but she turned having birdied the fourth and ninth holes. She gave one back on the par-5 15th to finish 12 under while compatriot Hannah Green (70) finished joint-24th at six under.
"It's a funny game. I stayed really patient this week and didn't panic by missing the cut last week," Kemp added.
"I rolled it great and they just didn't go in; this week some did.
"I've been lingering around the 90 to 100 for quite a while. I've been playing OK but I knew I needed a good finish coming in."
American Ewing shot a final-round six-under-par 66 to hold off Xiyu Lin (65) by one stroke and win her third career LPGA title at 22 under the card.
China's Lin nudged ahead early with three birdies over her first seven holes, while Ewing parred her first eight. But after a birdie at No.9, Ewing rolled in five straight at the 12th through 16th holes to surge ahead for good.
It was the second time Ewing had a hot streak this tournament after making six birdies in a row on Friday.
"In Canada I was really close to putting some stuff together, but still kind of a little finicky. This week ... I saw putts go in. Once I saw them go, I had that confidence," the 29-year-old from Mississippi said.
Maria Fassi of Mexico shot a final-round 71 and placed third at 16 under. South Korea's Jeongeun Lee6 (70) was fourth at 14 under, while Americans Marina Alex (67) and Andrea Lee (69), and A Lim Kim of South Korea (70) tied for fifth at 13 under.
