The Pakistan quick took every wicket in an Australian collapse of 4-10 that ended the hosts' innings just 25 minutes after coming back from the tea break at 6-289.
All out for 299, Australia trailed Pakistan by 14 runs at the innings break - the first time since December 2020 they had been behind in a home Test match after both sides' first innings.
Aamir finished with figures of 6-69, his second six-wicket haul of the tour.Â

His 18 wickets are the most for any rookie Pakistan bowler in a three-Test series.
Only minutes after tea, Aamir dismissed Australia's last recognised batter Mitch Marsh, who chipped the ball straight to mid-off, where he was caught by Shan Masood.
Marsh (54), Australia's form batter this series, had looked in ominous touch on his way to a gritty half-century.
But the allrounder so badly mistimed his shot that he began to walk from the crease almost immediately after the ball left his bat.
Aamir mopped up Australia's tail, first dismissing Pat Cummins lbw for a second-ball duck and then seeing off Nathan Lyon (five) and Josh Hazlewood (0) in the space of three deliveries.

His efforts came after trapping Travis Head lbw for 10 just after lunch to prolong the usually dangerous left-hander's quiet series.
On day two, Aamir dispatched SCG specialist Usman Khawaja (47) caught behind. The Australia opener had scored centuries in his three previous Tests at the ground.
"I'm over the moon now," Aamir told Fox Cricket after Australia's innings ended.
"I'm feeling proud to be representing my country at such a level and performing for them. This is a wonderful achievement for me."
"I just back myself every time. If I've been conceding runs I still back (myself) because when you try to get some wickets you get boundaries as well."
It is not just his bowling that has made Aamir stand out.Â
Batting at No.9 in the first innings he made 82 to frustrate the Australians, who had looked well in control of the game across the first two sessions.
His 86-run partnership with Mir Hamza was the largest 10th-wicket stand at the SCG since New Zealanders Stephen Boock and John Bracewell made 124 together in 1985.
