Kialla’s Riverside Plaza is welcoming back Santa for Christmas photo appointments once again after a tumultuous year filled with coronavirus concerns.

Visitors can book in for single-family photo appointments with Santa himself, assisted by Dale Wright Portrait Maker, who will take the photos and can provide photo packages to suit everyone.
“We can’t not have Santa, you know… we’ve got 20 years of tradition and families coming down to us from little babies to teenagers, who are now bringing their own kids in, so it’s really great to see,” Mr Wright said.
Mr Wright has been in the photography business for more than 40 years and has been taking photos of Santa with families for nearly as long.
“I want them to come in here and see Santa and the decorations, even the window display, we just want them all to enjoy the experience,” he said.
Visitors to Riverside Plaza may have already spotted the richly decorated studio front near Coles supermarket.

“It’ll definitely be a booster (for the community), it’s a positive that we can see by how fast and how far we’re being booked ahead,” Mr Wright said, with his online booking portal already showing many timeslots booked well in advance.
“Don’t wait until the last week before Christmas.”
The big man himself, Santa, said he was very excited to be coming back and taking photos with kids at Riverside Plaza.
“It’ll be good to see all the little kiddos coming back in and getting photos and that sort of thing, the only problem is that they can’t sit on my lap,” Santa said.
“The only thing I’d say to them is to be good — but they’re always good!”
Coronavirus measures will be in place to protect everyone, with only one group permitted in the private studio at one time, double vaccinations required for those eligible, social distancing required and bookings essential.
