Local employers are being given the opportunity to learn how, through a free workshop.
Hosted by Murray Mallee Training Company, the ‘Supervising your apprentice or trainee’ session will be delivered by Training Services NSW.
MMTC employment/training consultant Susie Stafford said there are multiple benefits to attending.
“I’ve done the workshop myself, and I think it’s worthwhile for anyone with an apprentice or trainee to attend,” she said.
“The workshop will arm you with coaching tools you might not know, and it’s also your chance to bounce ideas off other local businesses with trainees or apprentices.
“The workshop is free to attend, and it’s also a great way to start building relationships with training providers.”
Topics covered by the workshop include learning how to:
- Effectively supervise and coach an apprentice or trainee;
- Understand the importance of effective communication in the workplace;
- Understand the relationship with the training provider - arranging training that works for you and your business; and
- Address workplace bullying and harassment issues.
The workshop will be held from 9.30am to 12.30pm Tuesday, October 11 at The Depot’s The Cadillac Room. Morning tea will be provided.
RSVPs must be received by October 5. Call 5881 5558 or 0409 178 770.
