After taking up the sport four years ago, Judd has been picked to feature in Victoria's gymnastic side that will tackle the Trans-Bass Championships in November.
The teenage sensation, 13, will go up against competitors from each state in Australia, after the championships were opened to other states after previously being fought out between Victoria and Tasmania.
Judd was selected in Victoria's level seven side and in doing so, has become the first gymnast from Shepparton's Jets Gymnastics to feature in a state team.
“I was in disbelief, I couldn't believe I got picked,” Judd said.
Judd's mentor for the past three years, Josh Bissett, spoke glowingly of his pupil and said making the state team had been one of her goals for some time.
“I was absolutely stoked, she's worked hard all year,” she said.
“It's been one of her goals to make the state team all year.
“So I'm very proud to see her achieve that (goal).”
And it has not been through a lack of trying.
The youngster has been training hard for her opportunity, with 15-hour weeks during competition months.
In her off-season at the moment, Judd has been training four days and averaging 11 hours a week.
Judd, whose favourite routines are "the quick ones", detailed her upcoming preparation.
“At the moment we are just learning new skills,” she said.
“But once we get closer to the event, we'll focus more on our routines.
“Just neatening up and tidying on our skills.”
Along with her proud coach, Jets Shepparton manager Jacci Johnson was full of praise for Judd.
“It's a massive achievement to represent your state,” Johnson said.
“And the entire club is extremely proud of both Maddy and Josh.
“She's the first gymnast from Jets Shepparton and has got the ball rolling and hopefully she won't be the last (person picked to represent Victoria).”
The Trans-Bass Championships will be at Geelong Arena on November 2.
