The awards feature eight categories — Retail, Tourism, Agriculture, Horticulture, Professional Services, Manufacturing and Best New Business.
The final category is Best Regional Business from the Memorandum of Understanding group of councils — encompassing Berrigan Shire, Indigo Shire, Moira Shire and Federation councils.
Moira Shire Mayor Libro Mustica said the achievement awards recognised business that had developed innovative ways to attract and retain customers, shown leadership and provided goods and services to the community.
“It is important to recognise those businesses in our region who have gone above and beyond to make a difference to their customers, their staff and the communities as a whole,” he said.
“Following the nomination period, finalists in each category will be announced and the community will be given the opportunity to vote.
“The winners will be announced at a ceremony in July. Go to our website and subscribe to the Moira Business achievement Awards ... and most importantly, start nominating,” Cr Mustica said.
Anyone can nominate or vote for a business in the awards via the council website.
Nominations will close at 5pm on Friday, June 17.
