The event featured two sessions with school students before opening up to the public last night.
Students browsed several local businesses and organisations with information about career pathways available as well as further education options such as La Trobe University’s Shepparton campus and Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE.
A highlight of the event was the emergency services’ mock collision scene, which included 13 different career options.
Shepparton police crime prevention officer Glenn Gibson talked students through the emergency scene where Victoria Police, Search and Rescue, CFA and Ambulance Victoria attended.
He highlighted the roles of those at the scene as well as those of employees who worked the radio and made sure communication flowed between the organisations.
This was followed by a mock emergency department situation after the patient was taken to Goulburn Valley Health, where employees demonstrated their role following a serious collision.
The focus of the event shifted last night when it opened up to VCE students with information about further study or finding a job, parents looking to re-enter the workforce, job seekers needing help to find a job, those keen to follow their dream career and anyone keen to start their own business.
