The Magpies were nine points up at the first change and increased that margin at every break to eventually snare a 61-point victory.
Craig Bamford and Adam Giobbi each managed four majors for the home side at Memorial Oval, while JD Hayes, Jayden Gleeson and Andrew Bell stood out among a host of impressive showings from the outfit.
Euroa coach Scott Rowan was pleased with the efforts of his troops, but knows there is still plenty of ground to be made up on the teams near the top of the table.
‘‘Hopefully this gets us on a roll and we can find a few more wins over the next few weeks,’’ Rowan said.
‘‘Probably halfway through the third I was a bit concerned with how easily and quickly they took the ball from our forward 50 and had shots on goal themselves a few times, but we were able to address that at three-quarter-time.
‘‘JD was fantastic, he had well over 30 touches I would have thought and I’m glad he’s on our side, especially when he’s up and going.
‘‘We’ve played around with the personnel up forward a bit to try and get the right mix, it’s good to have someone like Jett Trotter go up the field and have us still be able to score really well.
‘‘Jayden was back in the midfield after spending a few weeks on the wing and half-back and really relished it.’’
The only cause for concern for the Magpies was some injury trouble, with David Mole playing no further part in the game after quarter-time thanks to a head knock and Matt Ivill also coming from the field in the second half.
For the Cats, Tom Brennan led the way in attack with three goals, while Tom Crosbie, Ajak Dang, Kai Madgwick, Tyson McKenzie and Isaac Dowling also battled hard.
