The anticipation of a big year ahead is rapidly building at Murchison-Toolamba.
Incoming A-grade mentor Sharne Milne has welcomed a handful of recruits and the atmosphere is buzzing for what shapes up to be a memorable year for the club.
Milne, a 250-game player at the Grasshoppers, highlighted the enjoyment at Murchison-Toolamaba during the summer months.
“Pre-season has been going really good. We’ve had some large numbers at training which has been great,” she said.
“It’s really exciting to see new faces at the club, as well as some returning ones. There is a really good vibe at the club and everything is running smoothly.”
Milne said the Hoppers had added four fresh faces to their roster.
Georgia Foster joins from recent stints at Tallygaroopna and Shepparton East, Sarah Trease comes from Numurkah, while Tatura duo Jade Kay and Darcie Stammers have jumped across.
Meanwhile, Murchison-Toolamba has waved goodbye to last year’s mentor Jenni McCluskey, Heidi Merritt and Mikayla Laws.
But the first-year coach is hopeful her side can rise up the ladder and feature in the post-season.
“We would love to be a competitive team and play finals,” Milne said.
“This is the first time I’ve coached and it’s been a lot of fun already. I want to help create an enjoyable and friendly environment for girls to come play netball.”
