Echuca’s A-grade women have put together a dominant two-week purple patch, backing up round three’s 10-wicket demolition of Beechworth with a 162-run win over BLU on Sunday.
Familiar names fired as Echuca batted first, with Grace Moyle, Delaney Laffy and Sharon Henson all cracking the 40-run mark among five Echuca batters to finish unbeaten.
Cameos from Jenna Park and Gill Noelker helped Echuca finish its innings on 207 after the allotted 30 overs, losing no wickets in the process.
With the ball, the side was equally clinical.
Danielle Garden, one week after claiming a five-wicket haul against Beechworth, continued her form with the ball, claiming the scalp of three BLU batters.
Jessica Cox (9) and Veronica McLeod (7) occupied the crease for BLU amid the onslaught until both fell to Sienna Varcoe (2-16).
Garden was well-supported by Isla Laffy (3-8) and Varcoe as they bundled out BLU for 49 in the 20th over.
In the other A-grade fixture, a Dinesha Patabinge hat-trick wasn’t enough to drag Shepparton Youth Club United to victory over Beechworth.
The Wanderers posted 142 runs before dismissing United for 59 in reply.
