Goulburn Valley's under-15 hockey team takes out Victorian junior title

Goulburn Valley Hockey Association's under-15 boys hockey squad has taken out a title at Hockey Victoria's Junior Country Championships.

The was event held across three venues at Essendon, Greensborough and Footscray on May 15 and 16.

The boys took all before them to go through the pool stages undefeated (two wins and draw) before upsetting Albury-Wodonga in the semi-final 2-1 and defeating Sunraysia 4-1 in the decider.

Goulburn Valley's under-18 girls also made the final, but fell short, losing to Albury-Wodonga 0-1.

The girls went through the pool stage with a 3-1 record, with Courtney Thompson finishing equal top on the goal-scoring charts with four goals from six matches, which included finals.

The Goulburn's Valley's under-15 girls finished fourth, despite not taking a scalp, while the under-13 boys finished fifth with two wins, a draw and three losses.

The under-18 boys finished the competition with one win, two draws and three losses, finishing sixth in this division.
