In a celebration of promoting access to healthcare in the region, Ms Thomas praised business manager Ngozi Amaechi Azubuike of Radskill Imaging Group for bringing the service to the area.
“To have these facilities now in a place like Kilmore is something that even 10 years ago or so we could have only dreamt of,” Ms Thomas said.
“People in rural and regional Victoria need access to first-class health care, the same as anyone else.
“Sometimes that can be a real challenge, because we struggle to get the workers we need.
“These people are making a real difference to the health and wellbeing of Victoria’s growing north here in Kilmore.”
The community gathered to celebrate the opening of a much-needed service.

Margaret Tuckwell from Seymour was the first patient to use the service.
“It’s excellent, it’s something we really need in country Victoria,” Ms Tuckwell said.
“It has made it very easy for me to make an appointment for imaging to be done when I needed it to be done.”
The grand opening took place on Thursday, April 24, and was well attended by members of Radskill Imaging Group and the local community.
Also present in celebration was Federal Member for McEwan Rob Mitchell.
Ms Azubuike said she was thankful for everyone who made an appearance on the day.
“It is an incredible honour,” Ms Azubuike said.
“I want to thank everyone here today for all of your contributions.
“We are grateful to make a little difference in the country that we call ours.
“We are so proud to be a part of what is happening here.”
The Kilmore MRI and Specialist Clinic is located at 75 Powlett St, Kilmore.
