Australia's world No.5 is among the favourites for this week's Chevron Championship and hopes her decision to finally adopt analytics will help not only at the Club at Carlton Woods outside Houston but also in her pursuit of the world No.1 ranking.
Noting that "just little things make a big difference", Green said she turned to using data at the behest of her super-coach Ritchie Smith, also the mentor of fellow West Australian stars Minjee and Min Woo Lee.
"Honestly, I've never really kept a whole lot of stats," Green said ahead of the first round on Thursday night (AEST).
"But that's something I've started to do this year and hopefully I'll be able to use some of the stuff that I've been doing, at least the first half of the year, to help me with the majors in the back end of the year.
"Min Woo and Ritchie, my coach, have been using Upgame for a couple of years, maybe even more, and so Ritchie has always said he wanted me to have stats and I've just, quite frankly, been too lazy.
"But, once we get into halfway or even towards the end of the year, at least I can see if I have any patterns.
"And I think it will obviously be very beneficial being a top-10 player in the world. I probably should have done it a lot but it's something I'm obviously trying to do to get better and hopefully improve my ranking and improve my game."
Green, dual major winner Lee, Steph Kyriacou, Gabriela Ruffels, Grace Kim, Hira Naveed and rookie Cassie Porter give Australia seven players in this week's field.
Twenty-four of the world's top 25 players, including world No.1 and defending champion Nelly Korda, are vying for the $US1.2 million winner's cheque.
Green reckons all the Australians teeing it up are capable of contending, even Porter on debut and her fast-rising former junior rival Haveed.
"It's nice to see we have so many out on tour and the girls are playing so well as well," she said.
"I wouldn't be surprised if, yeah, Hira, Steph, any of the young girls have a good performance.
"Hira was always fierce on the golf course. She was always a tough person to play match play against. Just very competitive all the time."
With top-five individual finishes in Tokyo and Paris, Green welcomed the IOC's announcement this month that a mixed component would be added in 2028.
"I'm all for a mixed event," she said.
"It's quite an honour that we get to obviously play for ourselves, but I think being able to play for a fellow countryman will be really awesome.
"I'm not really sure what it would look like in a sense but it would be nice to do some sort of foursome where we are trying to play each other's shots just so that we can both learn from each other.
"It would be good to do something like what they do in the Ryder Cup and the Solheim Cup.
"It will be a lot of fun."
