A hot autumn day greeted the Hoppers as they took on Picola at the home of footy the Rennie Recreation Reserve.
The Hoppers were in the game until half time but a lack of cohesion, structure and discipline saw them lose comfortably.

Sam Ferguson in his first game back after five years away was awesome in the backline, Hargreaves in the pivot was solid, Milthorpe on his wing worked hard and Bruce with three was the only target forward as Rennie were unable to stop the run and overlap from Picola at half back forcing their backline under pressure all day.
With the easter week off the Hoppers have time to regroup.

Reserves
Rennie 6.9.45 def Picola United 0.1.1.
The Hoppers made it two in a row to start the season with a 44-point win, keeping Picola goalless in the tough conditions.
Jeremy Sims playing his first game for Rennie was a revelation well supported by Caleb Bruce who was excellent in the air.
George McBurnie and Travis Hargreaves were able to kick two goals each and provide a target as was Joe Ferguson but he had left his straight kicking boots at home.
Paine and Josh Soutter were again good in a very even performance.
Goals: G. McBurnie 2, T. Hargreaves 2, L. Burrows, C. Bruce.
Awards: Premix King - Jeremy Sims, Lake Mulwala Bakery - Caleb Bruce, Yarrawonga Hotel - Jack McErvale Busch, Club Mulwala - George McBurnie, Royal Mail/Hustl - Travis Hargreaves, Yarra News and Gifts - Joe Ferguson.
Fourths
Rennie 1.2.8 def by Picola United 19.14.128.
Again undermanned, the Hoppers fought hard but were unable to provide any scoreboard pressure and lost easily.
Great to see Mason Santoro snag his first goal for the Hoppers. Lenny Legudi led the way for Rennie being super hard at the ball well supported by Judd Long who really knows how to find the ball and Jarred Ferguson who is showing continued improvement.
Hopefully a couple back after easter to tighten up the ship.
Goals: M. Santoro.
Awards: Red Ag - Lenny Legudi, Intents Fishing and Outdoor - Judd Long, Darren Lewis Fencing - Mason Santoro, Yarra Skin Ski & Surf - Jarred Ferguson, Lake Mulwala Bakery - Hunter Lewis, Crawford family - Ollie Legudi.
Under 11s
What an exciting start to the day with the youngest Hoppers having extra time to play their game and loving it.
It was the Wilson and Wilson show with Theo and Archie running amok, the money man Cash Trewarne showing great skill and Abel Lewis being willing in every contest.
Make sure you get along to watch the 11s as the ground starts rocking when they play.
Awards: Purtle Electrical - Archie Wilson, Rennie Catering Committee- Cash Trewarne, Freeman Glass and Aluminium - Theo Wilson, Border Concrete Plumbing - Abel Lewis
