Winless against Melbourne since July 2015, not one Warriors player from the club's last victory over the Storm will run out on Sunday at AAMI Park.
So long ago was that win, the world was almost as close to the swine flu pandemic as COVID-19, while Australia and New Zealand have had three prime ministers since.
Tik Tok was not yet created, Apple was only up to the iPhone 6 and a free-standing three-bedroom houses in Sydney's suburbs still sold for less than $500,000.
In the 10 years since, the Warriors have lost 16 straight to the Storm, including everything from a 60-point mauling to last-minute heartbreakers.
So significant is that streak, it is now the longest of any since St George beat Newtown in 21 straight matches between 1962 and 1972.
Defeat at a sold-out AAMI Park on Sunday would make it 17 straight for the Warriors at the hands of Melbourne, and the equal-sixth worst run in premiership history.
Nevertheless, Webster said his fourth-placed side had to go in believing they could beat a Storm team just above them on the ladder.
"I'd like to say it is (the chance to beat them)," Webster said.
"We have a lot of respect for them as a club. They have been at the top for a long time but we back our own ability too.
"I think it would be a big mistake to be beaten before we got to the start line by thinking we can't.
"We say that with every respect to every opponent we face. They are premiership favourites for a reason and one day we want to be sitting in their shoes."
Webster said his side could take confidence from recent close losses to Melbourne, including being the victim of Xavier Coates' gravity-defying buzzer-beater last year.
"They obviously hurt those ones, but we're a better team now and a lot of water has gone under the bridge," Webster said.
"The last three or four starts we have been in front for big periods of the game and haven't been ruthless enough to finish it off.
"We know parts of our game work against them and we have to piece it all together. But if you are Melbourne, you would say they've found a way to win all the time."
The Warriors do have some winning experience over the Storm, with James Fisher-Harris headlining a list of six Warriors who have beaten them while playing elsewhere.
