Police said the driver of the ute, a woman in her 20s who was not injured in the crash, helped direct traffic before police arrived.
Emergency services, including police, ambulance and the fire brigade, attended the scene.
North-bound traffic on the Goulburn Valley Hwy was diverted along the eastern section of River Rd for about an hour, while south-bound traffic on the highway was also slowed.

All roads were re-opened about noon.
Police said the van driver, a 56-year-old from the Melbourne suburb of West Meadows, would be fined for failing to give way.
It is the second crash involving multiple vehicles at the same intersection in eight days.
In the other crash, on March 30, a silver Commodore travelling west on River Rd allegedly failed to give way as it crossed the highway about 2pm.
It and a white Honda Jazz, which was travelling south on the Goulburn Valley Hwy, collided.
The cars then pushed into a third vehicle that was stationary at the intersection on the eastern side of River Rd.
This vehicle was stationary at the intersection and was hit by the other vehicles in the crash.
