A car had to be removed from a channel following a crash near Girgarre on Saturday, March 29.
Kyabram police Acting Sergeant David Barker said a Kia sedan and a Holden sedan collided at the intersection of Winter and McEwen Rds shortly after 3pm.
Act Sgt Barker said the Kia was travelling west on Winter Rd and the Holden was travelling north on McEwen Rd when the crash occurred.
The Kia ran off the road and became lodged in the channel beside the road, Act Sgt Barker said.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the driver of the Kia, a man in his 50s, was treated for upper and lower body injuries before being flown to Royal Melbourne Hospital by air ambulance in a stable condition.
The driver of the Holden, a woman in her 40s, was treated for upper body injuries and transported by ambulance to Goulburn Valley Hospital in a stable condition, the spokesperson said.
Act Sgt Barker said the Holden suffered “substantial front damage” while the Kia was found to have “substantial damage” after being removed from the channel.
Act Sgt Barker said there was an ongoing investigation into the incident.
