Echuca College held a whole school awards ceremony on Tuesday, March 25 to induct its student leadership team and award Term 1 high achievers.

School captains, community sports captains, home group leaders and student council representatives were announced on the day.
This year’s college captains Chloe Campbell and Zali Newman, along with vice-captains Malik Day-Kennedy and Lotti Waterson, were formally inducted into their roles.

State Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh joined teachers to announce community sports captains and home group leaders, congratulating each with a handshake.
Beacon Foundation Year 9 leaders were announced by Campaspe Cohuna LLEN project manager Cath Elms and college careers and pathways co-ordinator Lorelle Pearse.
Year 2 VET music performance students played a song before high-achieving students from Year 7 to 10 were recognised with Community Spirit awards for attendance and positive acknowledgement.

Students with an attendance rate higher than 97 per cent and top students in each year were awarded.
Assistant principal Sean Irving said the best way for students to set themselves up for their future was to be at school.
“To see so many people with attendance awards is brilliant,” he said.
“It’s also fantastic to see so many people receiving excellence awards.”
The Overall Community Spirit trophy was presented to the Goulburn community, and accepted by sports captains Louise O’Callaghan and Mia Arthurson.
