The most important question anyone can ask in their lifetime is “who is Jesus?”.
Today’s scripture tells us that Jesus is the only bridge to our Father in heaven.
When we come to know Jesus as our lord and saviour, we are immediately united with the Father.
Our faith in Jesus is the bridge we have to walk across to be known by our Father in heaven.
When we cross that bridge our understanding of the world we live in is transformed and we get a new perspective on life.
The once impersonal God becomes personal.
We come to understand that we were once separated from God by the sins we committed, and that Jesus’ death on the cross has paid the price for our sins and blotted them out.
When this happens we can live our lives in God’s presence.
We become holy and righteous by God’s amazing grace towards us.
When we accept Jesus as lord and saviour, and cross the bridge, Jesus comes alive in us and He imparts His nature to us.
Our sin nature is exchanged for a God nature.
If you haven’t crossed the bridge yet, it’s time to contemplate ‘who is Jesus to you?’.
