Of eight items submitted by Jerilderie CWA, four have been selected to be entered at the CWA of NSW annual conference in Wagga in May.
Items progressing are Rosie Stevens’ crochet tablecloth, Bev Lawton’s confetti quilted runner and two items from Joy Knight - a native flower embroidered baby blanket and a framed garden embroidery.
Other Jerildeire members also received prizes at the Murray Hut event.
The Nea Morey Trophy for Best Piece of Work was presented to Joy Knight, Faye Williams had a win in the Murray Group Handicraft Competition 80 years & over Cross Stitch Quilt and Wendy Hurd was second in the Murray Group Handicraft Competition Knitted & Crochet Cardigan category.
The Jerilderie branch received the Table Top Jindera Trophy for placing second overall, and the Merle Childs Trophy for Best Branch Product (four pin cushions).
Last week, Jerilderie held its own cookery competition. They were to make Remembrance Cookies, which were judged by Lyn Baker from Deniliquin.
First was Deb Falkiner, with Isabell Milne second, and Rosie Stevens third.
The Jerilderie CWA’s next event is a street stall on Friday, April 11 - just in time for Easter.
