Swiatek's 6-1 6-1 victory on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT) continued her relentless march through the California desert tournament with another lopsided victory.
The Polish former world No.1 has only dropped six games since arriving at the event, and shoved aside Muchova with a near-flawless performance, with just four errors against a dozen winners, while never facing a break point.
Swiatek is aiming to become the first woman to win the WTA 1000-level tournament three times, after serving a one-month suspension late last year for a failed drug test.
After waiting through a rain delay, Swiatek took immediate hold of the momentum, sprinting through the first four games and not dropping a first-serve point in the opening set.
Muchova, who enjoyed an inspired run to the US Open semi-final last year after recovering from wrist surgery, was unable to find her level in the second set as the mistakes piled up.
Swiatek closed it out in 57 minutes with an unreturnable serve to set up a meeting with either Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen of China or Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk.
"I feel for sure like I'm returning well and I'm trying to put pressure on my opponents," Swiatek said.
"But I wouldn't say I change anything or something. I'm kind of going the same kind of process I always had."
Elena Svitolina needed nearly five hours - three of them due to a rain delay - to end fourth seed Jessica Pegula's hopes of adding the Indian Wells crown to the one she won in Austin last week.
Svitolina, the No.23 seed, hit back to level after losing the first set, then returned from the lengthy wait to complete a 5-7 6-1 6-2 victory.
She next faces ninth-seeded Russian Mirra Andreeva, who saw off Elena Rybakina 6-1 6-2.
