Despite having their finals spot sewn up already, the Eagles travelled to Kilmore Cricket Ground with plenty still on the line, trailing ladder leaders Wallan by less than one bonus point heading into the final round.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, things got off to a shaky start for the visitors, with opener Michael Brown bowled for four and fellow opener Jake Wright run out for a duck, leaving them at 2-9 after less than four overs of play.
Wicket continued to fall regularly through the innings, however skipper Seamus Feery helped salvage a score with a patient 29 from 81 deliveries, while an unbeaten 36 from Brayden Speechley ensured the Eagles reached 9-155 by the time the 40 overs were up.
Despite the lack of fluency in the innings, Eastern Hill at least had a respectable total to defend, and some quick wickets early on would make it a lot more comfortable, which is precisely what Fraser Lewis delivered.
With Kilmore having survived the first two overs without loss, Lewis removed both opener Ryan Knight and number three Callum Partridge in the third over, before dismissing number four Dale Tassone – all for ducks - in his next set of six deliveries to have the home side in all sorts at 3-8.
A Feery run out saw Shaun Suttie head back to the pavilion, before Lewis found another breakthrough to have remaining opener Leon Zelvys gone for 18, further reducing Kilmore to 5-22 and finishing with figures of 4-21 for his efforts.
Daniel O’Sullivan tidied things up in the lower order, claiming 4-29 of his own, while Benjamin Bryant claimed the remaining scalp to end with figures of 1-15.
Despite claiming the victory, Eastern Hill was unable to wrest top spot from Wallan, who claimed a win of their own over East Sunbury to claim the minor premiership.
The conclusion of the home and away season means finals match-ups are now set, with Eastern Hill to take on East Sunbury at King's Park at the weekend for a spot in the decider, while Wallan will battle it out against Aintree in the other semi-final.
