John joined the ADA in 1982 and has been committed to ADA and to the improvement of the status of deer and deer hunting ever since by:
» Holding executive positions at branch, state, and national levels, and more recently, as an ADA director.
» Being involved in hunter education and presenting at all the NSW courses run to date.
» Representing ADA at the Joint Committee of Recreational Hunting Associations (later Game con) and holding the position of Secretary on these groups for five years and Chairman for 15 years.
» Representing ADA on the NSW Firearms Safety Foundation.
» Lobbying to improve the status of deer, resulting in them being given Game Status in NSW.
» Lobbying successfully for the opening of public land in NSW for hunting.
» Becoming an inaugural member of the NSW Game Council and later its Chairman.
» Being a Director of the Australian Wildlife Health Network.
John remains committed to ADA's objectives and continues to make a valuable contribution to the organisation, supported by his wife, Jan.
