Plans for construction of the new supermarket on Frank Drive are advancing with Moira Shire Council approving the planning permit on February 24.
The aptly-named, Yarrawonga Village will be a brand-new development anchored by a 3,692sqm Coles supermarket and 200sqm Liquorland.
A spokesman for Coles said that, if approved, the project would create hundreds of retail and construction jobs.
The centre will have access to a large carpark from Frank Drive with 260 car spaces including disability, parent and electric car charging spaces, and some car spaces undercover.

The development application by the supermarket giant has been lodged and accepted by Moira Shire Council.
“Council has approved a supermarket development, including specialty shops and associated carparking, adjacent to the Aldi site at 14 Frank Drive in Yarrawonga,” a spokesperson said.
“The planning permit was issued on February 24, 2025.
“Leasing opportunities will be available for speciality tenancies ranging from 145-155sqm as a cold shell. Incentives are negotiable.”
Property developers, Pellicano, in joint venture with local business Judd & Sons, late last year sold two land parcels in Kaiela Business Park, on the Murray Valley Highway, to major supermarket chains Coles and Aldi.
Aldi is now open with customers keen to see more supermarket competition.
"We welcomed the chance to purchase the site and are pleased with how Kaiela Business Park has grown into a hub for local and national businesses,” managing director Nando Pellicano said.
A Coles spokesperson said the company would keep the community informed as the development progressed.
“At Coles we are constantly evaluating our store network to ensure we are delivering the best shopping experience for our customers, and as part of that process we are excited about this development which would deliver a new supermarket and Liquorland for the Yarrawonga community,” he said.
