The National Fly-in of the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia is returning to Corowa after a hugely successful 50th anniversary event last year.
About 300 people from around Australia will spend three or four nights in town.
Although it’s not a public event, the skies are sure to be a spectacle filled with war birds, military planes and pre-war aircraft from 1920s through to 1960s.
The event was held in Corowa for the first time last year and President Gordon Rich-Phillips said everyone was keen to return this year.
He said Corowa was a fantastic location for the event with a very good airport, and very easy to get in and out of town.

“Ours is a family event and Corowa has a lot of attractions for partners and children,” Mr Rich-Phillips said.
“Corowa Aerodrome has two runways, which is ideal for antique aircraft that don’t handle crosswinds very well.
“That’s a key attraction because if the wind isn’t right down one runway, we can land on the other.
“That’s important for our aircraft.”
Last year’s event included 300 people at an awards dinner at Club Corowa and an open-air film night at the aerodrome.
The Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia surveyed their members afterwards and estimated the event brought $220,000 into the local community.
“This is not an airshow, but there’s going to be a lot of activity over Corowa,” Mr Rich -Phillips said.
