When we think of Jesus, we often think of gentle Jesus - meek and mild.
However, in this scripture we see Jesus using a whip to drive those out of the temple who were using it as a marketplace, buying and selling.
His Father’s Holy temple was being made into a den of iniquity.
This made Jesus angry, so much so that he drove them out with a whip in His hand, overturning the tables as he ran through the temple.
There are other times where he called the religious leaders ‘a generation of vipers’ and hypocrites.
Jesus confronted evil when he saw it, and called it out.
In this scene, Jesus not only calls it out but he puts a stop to it.
Jesus never let his righteous anger lead to sin, but what he saw compelled him to action.
This reminds me of what is happening in America where Trump’s DOGE team is auditing the books in all their government departments.
They are essentially turning the tables exposing all the corruption and misuse of the American tax dollars.
This is the year for evil to be exposed and overturned and for those perpetrating evil to be disgraced and lose their positions.
Let’s all pray that what is happening in America will happen across our world, for all corrupt leadership to be exposed and for peace, truth and justice to reign.
